Now-a-days “health in the workplace” has become one of the most important issue for the Human Resource professionals handling the human related issues in the corporate. It has become a burning issue as health related issue have started affecting the work of the companies.Companies today fight with employees health related issues along with issues in finance and marketing. The cost due to health issue is increasing as well as efficiency and output is decreasing. In a country of the size of UK, 32.9 million working days can be lost because of employees taking off due to illness.

According to the Health and Occupation Reporting Network, over 2 million people developed a health related problem due to their present or past job. The health related issues for the employees are affecting all the fronts of a complete health situation- physical, psychological and spiritual.

According to the HR professionals as well as doctors, the biggest enemy of health of the employees is stress. It not only eats up productivity but also hampers the personal lives of the employees. Stress and musculoskeletal injuries are the most common causes of employees being absent in their works.

Back pain is another health issue that needs to be dealt with in the workplace. Due to ergonomic disorientation of the sitting arrangements millions of employees experience back pain and such other musculoskeletal problems.

Stress is cause by excessive pressure on the employees. Stress causes other problems like heart disease, psychological disorders and neurological problems. People on a constant high stress develop several health related issues.
